On Saturday 3rd of October I was guiding Michael, a bird photographer based in Trinidad who was on a business trip and had a stopover at Amsterdam. Before his flight in the afternoon we visited the pier of IJmuiden and managed to see some lifers for him.
When we walked back to the car a Siberian Stonechat had been (re)found near the parking after 10 minutes the bird come flying in perched and then chased a fly in our direction and caught it mid air, it's fantastic nowadays how fast and good the autofocus works on cameras.
